Saw my first 2020 Outback today? Looks a bit tacky in places, but I like it overall and this green is killer.

Like a lot of new corssovers it’s trying way to hard to convince you that it’s adventurous, outdoorsy, much like a lot of it’s owners.

Unlike most crossovers the Outback actually has the capabilities to match the outdoorsy adventure look.

Quite restrained.  Now needs a roof box on 365 days a year, along with lots of stickers and badges. I do things outdoors now and then, look at me!

It’s not a Jeep, it’s not designed for rock crawling. It will get you to just about anything campsite you may want to go to though.

Looks a bit tacky in places could describe just about every Subaru in history. I say that as the past owner of  several.

There is an overabundance of black plastic on the rear bumper, to be fair folks tend to park by feel so maybe this is a good thing.

I’m fine with black body cladding, but the giant oversized black corners on that cladding look terrible in my eyes...why not just keep it the same height the width of the bumper?

I’m pretty sure any FWD car  can get to 90% of campsites.

Well the cladding on the rocker panes was inspired by hiking boots...If that doesn’t scream adventurous, I don’ t know what will!

Rocker cladding has held up well after 11 years of gravel on our Forester.. Rally Armor helps too.
